Every Day With Jesus ...

Every Day With Jesus
is Sweeter than the Day Before!

How close do you feel to God? In the Christian walk there are always the valleys, when we feel low, and the mountain top experiences, when we feel our best. However, if we are not as close to God as we once were, something is missing in our relationship with God.
In John's letters to the churches, he writes to one particular church at Ephesus. He writes the words of Jesus as it is Jesus who is really speaking to the church. In Rev. 2 v 4 through 5 we read: "4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent."
Notice the tone here is not exactly light and easy going.  Jesus promises action to the church, removal of his presence in this case, if repentance is not done immediately. If we

allow sin into our lives, it must be dealt with. Sin blocks our communication with God. The only prayer God really wants to hear from us when we are in sin is one of repentance.  This can make us feel a thousand miles away from God's love. He's not really that far away.  In 1 John 1:9 we read "9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." By this verse we see that his love and presence are only a prayer away.
Are you as close to Jesus as you once were?  You should be and you can be if you desire it. Someone once said that "Everyday with Jesus is sweeter than the day before." That statement is true for a person who is in a right relationship with God. The Lord desires fellowship and praise.  Draw near to him and He will draw near to you. The decision is yours. He never forces his way on anyone.
